⛄ Danish 🇩🇰 (Dansk) - A2 Level

CEFR levels A1, A2, and B1 are available.

Suitable for students who wish to move to Denmark, Faroe Islands or Greenland.

Duration: 4 months

Mode: Physical classes will be conducted in Vavuniya. Online classes are also available.

COURSE CONTENT

Our Danish lessons follow a communicative approach to language teaching, focusing on the language you need to communicate in authentic situations with an emphasis on speaking and listening. 

PART 1

Topics
In this term, we will cover:

  • the Danish alphabet
  • introducing yourself
  • numbers from 1-100
  • the calendar
  • greetings
  • telling the time
  • countries, nationalities and languages

Grammar
You will learn:

  • simple sentence structures
  • word order
  • verbs (infinitive, present, auxiliary)
  • nouns (gender, singular, plural, definite, indefinite)
  • personal and interrogative pronouns (f.eks. jeg, du, vi … hvor, hvornår, hvad)
  • cardinal and ordinal numbers (f.eks. en, to, tre, første, anden, tredje)
  • asking and answering questions

PART 2

Topics
In this term, we will cover:

  • talking about your occupation and everyday activities
  • describing your home and family
  • asking for and giving directions
  • responding to everyday situations
  • modes of transport
  • planning your diary

Grammar
You will learn:

  • more complex sentence structures (inversion)
  • prepositions of place and time (f.eks. i, på, til)
  • verbs (future, imperative)
  • possessive pronouns (min, dit, vores)

PART 3

Topics
In this term, we will cover:

  • discussing the weather
  • clothing and appearance
  • body parts and movement
  • family life
  • Danish holidays and traditions
  • food, menus and food culture
  • health and well-being

Grammar
You will learn:

  • verbs (past, present perfect, past perfect)
  • adjectives (gender, number, irregular)
  • pronouns: reflexive, (mig, sig) relative, (der, som) indefinite, (nogen) demonstrative (den, de)
